Please Help Flood Affectees of Peshawar
An appeal for your assistance


The Vice Chancellor has appealed to the Employees and students of the University, Government organizations, NGO's, Civil Society, affluent people for financial, technical and moral assistance for the flood affectees of district Peshawar. While addressing to a conference held at NWFP Agricultural University Peshawar on Thursday, he said that 25 thousand families had been affected from the recent disastrous flood adding that 8 thousand houses had been swept away with the high flow of water and 4 thousand houses were damaged partially. "Two hundred thousand people are misplaced and living under the open sky, waiting for aid, assistance and help" he said. The Vice Chancellor informed that the flood caused rupees 15 billion of financial loss, where as he added that the whole infrastructure including Schools, Hospital, Roads, Buildings, Bridges, Communication system were inundated and the standing crops washed out completely. He demanded financial aid from government, local and international NGO's and affluent people for the rehabilitation of the affected people.

NWFP Agricultural University Peshawar promptly responded to the situation and enounced a disaster relief committee to coup with the situation and help the needy and affected people. The Vice Chancellor has chosen Dr. Farzand Ali Jan as convener of the committee and advised him to manage the overall working and flood relief activities of the committee.
