What is Accreditation?
- Process of evaluation to ensure the quality of a given academic program on the basis its well defined goals.
- Program meets the quality standards established by QAA.
- Program accreditation is the official approval / certification given by QAA stating that an institution / degree program has achieved a required standard.
- Quality is the essence and essential element of higher education. Requires focus on quality assurance and quality enhancement.
- Employs external quality expertise and is stakeholder oriented.
Mission Statement
Developing a viable and sustainable mechanism of quality assurance in higher learning of agriculture education to meet the rising challenges of transforming the country into a knowledge economy.
Objectives
- Assure quality of agriculture degree programs in educational institutions.
- Systematize and execute a comprehensive process of accreditation of the agriculture degree programs, through adopting transparent policies, procedures and criteria and assist and advise institutions in planning their academic programs.
- Support the intellectual development of students and faculty members interested in pursuing agriculture profession par excellence.

- Safeguard and Promote public confidence in the quality of Higher Education.
- Assist Institutions in enhancing the quality of their resources.
- Ensure that there is a clarity and transparency in quality assurance process and outcomes.
- Promote a culture of quality improvement.
- Provide a measure of accountability to the investment of private and public funding.
- To provide reliable information on institutions and academic programs to all the key stakeholders.
- Competencies of learning outcomes may relate either to liberation of minds or empowerment of hands.
