About Chairman:
Prof. Dr. Abdur Rab
Prof. Dr. Abdur Rab did B.Sc (Hons) and MSc (Hons) Horticulture, from Agricultural University, Peshawar, Pakistan. During MSc (Hons) he worked on the bio-chemical characterization of apricot cultivars.
It was at this stage that he developed an aptitude for postharvest physiology of fruits and vegetables. On completion of his studies, he joined the provincial agriculture research system where he was responsible for pre-basic and basic seed potato production. Later, he was awarded admission at the University of California, Davis USA for perusing PhD. He worked on the physiological disorder known as chilling injury. On his return from PhD, he acted as counterpart with an Australian team to evaluate the problems and prospects of vegetable crops in Khyber-Pakhtonkhwa province.
He joined this University back in 1996 lecturer and was became a professor in 2005. The Syndicate of Khyber Pakhtonkhwa Agricultural University appointed him as Chairman in 2011 for a period of three years. Beside teaching activities ranging from B.Sc (Hons) to PhD levels, Dr. A. Rab has supervised 40 M.Sc (Hons) and 4 PhD students and completed two independent projects.
His research findings have been published in various national and foreign journals. He has 43 publications to his credit.
Dr. A. Rab has presented the university at various national and international forums and has been involved on a number of important management positions within University. He has been instrumental in promoting research especially in field of postharvest management and his services are highly appreciated by various international agencies.

1. Optimization of seed source for the autumn crop of potato.
2. Evaluation of heat treatment methods for disease suppression and induction of chilling tolerance in sweet orange fruit.
