For agricultural development of a country the presence of strong linkages amongst institution building, human resource development, technology development and technology transfer are highly important. The technology transfer, however, takes place through a well-organized extension system and is a continuous process of passing on useful information to the farmers and then assisting them to utilize effectively the new knowledge and skills for improving their production and income. However, a separate Department of Extension Education and Communication was envisaged in 1990 for more effective linkages with provincial Directorate of Agriculture Extension through outreach unit of the Agricultural University for quick and more effective problem solving of the farming community. At this Department students of M.Sc (Hons) are given topic of original research regarding farmer’s problems.
