Institute of Development Studies (I.D.S)
Mission and Scope
Institute of Development Studies (IDS) is a multi-disciplinary unit of Faculty of Rural Social Sciences that assembles information, conducts studies and provides trainings, leading to sustainable improvement of resources use, productivity, and socio-economic well being. While particularly concerned with situations, potentials, and assistance needs of people in agricultural and rural areas, the expertise available through IDS is being utilized to help address broader aspects of development. The work relates not only to NWFP itself, but also to the tribal areas, neighboring economies, and national programmes and policies.
