General Eligibility
PhD Programs
Candidates possessing M.Sc (Hons) Agric/Animal Husbandry/M. Phil degree in the respective field of specialization (except Rural Development where M. Sc (H) Agriculture or equivalent degree holders are also eligible) with a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 (under semester system) or 1st division with 65% marks under annual system (with required course work) from a HEC recognized University, are eligible to apply.
Candidates must have qualified GAT-Subject (in the respective field of specialization)
Other conditions apply
M.Sc (H) Agric/Animal Husbandry Programs
Candidates possessing Minimum 4 years B.Sc. (Hons) Agric/AH or equivalent (HEC recognized) degree in the respective field of specialization with a minimum CGPA of 2.5/4.0 (under semester system) or 2nd division with 56% marks (under annual system).
MS Programs (2 years)
Candidate having sixteen years of education with a maximum CGPA of 2.5/4.0 (under semester system) or 2nd Division with 56% marks (under annual system)
Management Science- Priority i. 4-years BBA (Hons) or ii. MBA or iii. M.Com iv. MA Economics (with sixty six Credit Hours Course work).
Computer Science-4 years BS (CS) or MCS/M. Sc (CS).
Information Technology – 4 years BS(IT), BS (SE), MIT or M. Sc (CS)
M.Phil/Sociology/Islamyat/Economics
Four years Bacholar or MA degree from a recognized University/Institute in the respective field of Specialization.
M.Phil Pathology/Theriogenology (Animal Health)
Candidates possessing Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Animal Husbandry/MBBS or an equivalent examination with at least 56% marks under annual system or CGPA 2.5/4 under semester system from HEC recognized institutions.
Note: Deficiencies courses shall be offered, where required.
Specific Instructions
Candidates are required to apply on prescribed GAT-Subject Test Application Forms, duly signed and stamped by the respective Head of the Department, on or before 13 July, 2012, along with a deposit slip of Rs. 1200/- (non refundable/transferable) as GAT Subject Test fee in Account No. 7940-8 Habib Bank Limited Agricultural University Branch Peshawar.
GAT-Subject test forms are available from the Directorate of Advanced Studies & Research (DASAR) or can be downloaded from website, www.aup.edu.pk. Duly filled forms shall be submitted to the DASR AUP on or before due date.
Only those candidates who qualify GAT-Subject Test (Designed for the respective departments) with a minimum score of 50% for M.Sc (H)/MS/M. Phil. and 60% for PhD programs, as well as, have valid degrees shall apply for admission on prescribed admission forms, available from Habib Bank Limited, Agricultural University Peshawar Branch, on payment of Rs. 500/-
Complete Admission forms annexed with copies of all documents (from SSC to Graduate/Post graduate) duly attested and verified from concerned Board/University/DAI shall be submitted in Office No.64, DASAR AUP, no later than 6th of August, 2012.
Migration Certificate in original shall also be required from candidates graduated from other institutions.
Note
Consent from Major Supervisor is must for PhD admission.
Only those students, whose degrees are complete on closing date i.e. 06 July, 2012, can apply for GRE-Subject test.
GAT-General with 50% score is also accepted for admission in M.Sc (H)/M.Phil/MS only.
GRE/GAT-Subject test in "Agriculture" or "other group of subjects" shall NOT be accepted for admission in any degree program.
Valid NOC and leave certificate are required from in-service candidates; however, candidate can submit an advance copy of application.
All those candidates whose degrees are in complete are NOT eligible to apply.
Incomplete admission forms and applications received after due date shall NOT be entertained.
