It is a peer-reviewed research journal, publishes research articles on quarterly basis in every discipline of Agriculture including Plant Production Sciences, Protection Sciences, Nutrition Sciences, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences and Social Sciences. 106 issues have been published so far in this journal.
The research articles are received from national and international agricultural scientists, which are referred to highly qualified, capable and experienced subject specialists for evaluation. The journal is managed by highly qualified Editorial Board under the supervision of Chief Editor and Patron (Vice Chancellor).
More than forty organizations including foreign missions in Pakistan and some foreign countries including India , Kenya , Japan , UK and USA receive the journal regularly on exchange basis. It is also subscribed by various national and international organizations including Netherlands , UK , Germany and some Agricultural Research Stations/Institutes in the province. CAB International of UK is the permanent subscriber of SJA, which disseminates its abstracts.

Sarhad Journal of Agriculture (SJA) is a peer-reviewed journal publishing quality research in field of Agricultural Sciences.
Articles submitted to the SJA must be based on original research and should not have been previously published in any journal. The original copy and one legible photocopy of the manuscript complete with figures and tables are required. Manuscripts will normally be published in the order in which they are received, reviewed and accepted. Manuscripts should be sent to the Chief Editor, Sarhad Journal of Agriculture, NWFP Agricultural University, Peshawar - Pakistan.
Manuscript
The manuscript, in English, should be typewritten, double-spaced throughout, on one side of 8½"x 11" paper (A4), leaving at least 2.5cm margins on all sides. The first page of the manuscript should start with the title, names of authors. Authors' addresses should be given as footnote. Pages should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals. Every page of the manuscript, including the title page, references, tables, figures, etc. should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals in the upper right hand corner. Tables should be typed on separate sheets having a brief self-explanatory title. Figures (including graphs, photographs and line drawings) should be composed on separate page and numbered according to their sequence. Reference should be made in the text to each illustration. Illustrations should be designed with the format of the page of the journal in mind. Illustrations should be of such a size to allow reduction of 50%. Colour illustration can only be included, if the author or some other subsidizing body pays the cost of their reproduction. " ABSTRACT ", " INTRODUCTION ", " MATERIALS AND METHODS ", " RESULTS AND DISCUSSION ", " CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS " and " REFERENCES " must be the compulsory sections of each paper.
Manuscript on disk
Original submission should always be on paper. After acceptance, submission of the final version on disk (3½ inches, double or high density) is encouraged. DOS diskettes are preferred in any of the four disk formats. The software used, file name and author(s) names should be mentioned on the diskette.
References
All papers, books and other work cited in the text must be included in the "References ". The references used in the text should consist of completely capitalized author's or authors' last name(s) where one or two authors are concerned. But where there are more than two authors, only the first is named and et al. is added. The publication year in parenthesis should follow the name. In the "References " section, the paper cited should appear in alphabetical order according to the last name of the first author, followed by year of publication. If more than one paper by an author or authors published in the same year is cited, the papers should be listed according to the year of publication followed by a, b, c, etc. Papers published in periodicals should be cited with names of all authors, together with full title of the paper and preferably in its original language, title of periodical, number of volume, initial and final page.
Both in the text and references section, citation of governmental agencies, educational and other institutions, foundations, associations and industrial companies should consist of the full name as used by the organizations.
