Prof. Dr. Himayatullah Khan
Prof. Dr. Himayatullah Khan is the Dean of Faculty of Rural Social Sciences. He has a vast experience of teaching, research and administration. He did his M.Sc Economics from Gomal University, D.I. Khan in 1986. He got gold medal in his M.Sc. He joined the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) in December 1987 and is serving the University of Agriculture, Peshawar since then in various capacities. He completed his Ph.D Economics from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad in 1994. His Ph.D was the first doctoral degree in Economics from the Quaid-i-Azam University. In 1996-97, he was selected for the Fulbright Senior Scholar Research Award by the Centre for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES), USA. He completed his post-doctorate in Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota, USA.

Prof. Dr. Himayatullah Khan is the senior most faculty member of FRSS. He was elevated to the status of Professor of Economics on January 01, 2005. He was appointed as Director of the IDS on January 01, 2017. Later on, the Governor/Chancellor of University of Agriculture, Peshawar appointed him as Dean, FRSS on October 21, 2021.

During his stay at the university, he has published about 100 papers in journals of national and international repute. He is also serving as member of editorial/review boards of various impact factor journals. He has supervised 15 doctoral students and more than 60 M.Phil students. In addition, he has served as external examiner of more than 30 Ph.D scholars of various public and private universities of Pakistan. Prof. Dr. Himayatullah is actively involved in improving the academic standard of the FRSS and is working for the welfare of student community. The Dean, FRSS pledges all members of the faculty to join hands with him to serve this university in general and the FRSS in particular in the best possible way to achieve its goals and objectives.
