A New Chapter in the Digital Transformation of the University of Agriculture Peshawar.

A New Chapter in the Digital Transformation of the University of Agriculture Peshawar.

The University of Agriculture Peshawar has taken another decisive step towards modernizing its administrative system by successfully organizing a three-day E-Office Training Program in collaboration with the National Information Technology Board (NITB), Government of Pakistan. The initiative marks the beginning of a long-term journey towards establishing a transparent, efficient and paperless governance system under the University's Digital Transformation Programme.

The three-day training was conducted under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sar Zamin Khan, whose vision for a technologically advanced and digitally empowered University continues to guide institutional reforms. Organized by the Directorate of Information Technology, the programme brought together more than 115 officers and officials from academic and administrative departments, while over 30 senior university officers attended as observers, demonstrating the University's collective commitment to embracing digital governance.

The programme commenced with an inaugural session addressed by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sar Zamin Khan, who highlighted the importance of digital transformation in higher education. He emphasized that the future of modern universities lies in transparent, efficient and technology-driven administration, and encouraged participants to play an active role in making the University's transition towards a paperless working environment a success.

Throughout the training, expert resource persons from NITB delivered comprehensive practical sessions, enabling participants to gain hands-on experience with the E-Office system. The participants showed remarkable enthusiasm and actively engaged in discussions, practical exercises and interactive learning activities.

The second day featured insightful addresses by Mr. Majid Khan, Director VC Secretariat, and Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahman, Senior Dean and Convener of the E-Office Steering Committee, who encouraged participants to embrace digital transformation as a shared institutional responsibility.

The concluding day became a landmark occasion in the University's history. The E-Office System was formally inaugurated, followed by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Agriculture Peshawar and the National Information Technology Board (NITB). The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates among participants in recognition of their successful completion of the training programme.

The University recognizes that the successful implementation of a comprehensive paperless office environment is a gradual process requiring sustained efforts in human resource development, continuous training, organizational change management, technological upgradation and institutional capacity building. Nevertheless, the University remains firmly committed to implementing the E-Office System in its true letter and spirit to promote transparency, efficiency, accountability and improved public service delivery.

The Directorate of Information Technology deserves appreciation for successfully planning and coordinating this landmark initiative in collaboration with NITB. The dedication of the trainers, steering committee members, University administration and enthusiastic participants transformed the programme into a highly successful and memorable event.
